The province consists of two distinct landmasses. Labrador, which is connected to the mainland, and the island of Newfoundland. St. John’s is the capital of the province where a large number of residents live and enjoy a lively culture that draws heavily from its coastal environment.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) is the Provincial Nomination Program of Newfoundland And Labrador which targets prospective immigrants who are having in-demand skills and wish to live in Newfoundland and Labrador with a permanent residency status through the various streams of provincial nomination. The eligible candidates may receive a provincial nomination of Newfoundland And Labrador.

The NLPNP accepts applications under the following immigration categories:

Skilled Worker Category

The Skilled Worker stream of NLNP welcomes experienced workers of all National Occupation Classification (NOC) Skill Levels with a valid job offer from a Newfoundland and Labrador employer to apply for provincial nomination. The applicant must have a specialized skill set that meets the needs of the employer from which they receive a full-time job offer. Express Entry Skilled Worker

The Express Entry Skilled Worker target Skilled workers who are in the federal Express Entry pool with NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B occupations with a valid letter of employment may be eligible to apply for the Express Entry Skilled Worker stream of NLPNP. International Graduate Category

The Skilled Worker stream of NLNP welcomes recent graduates of an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution who remain in Canada on a Post-Graduate Work Permit. The candidate must also have a letter of employment from a Newfoundland and Labrador valid employer and must be working in their field of study at the time of application. International Entrepreneur Category

The International Entrepreneur Category is designed for foreign nationals with experience owning and managing businesses that wish to invest in purchasing and managing a business in Newfoundland & Labrador.  Candidates must operate their business for a year while on a Temporary Work Permit before pursuing a provincial nomination from the province. International Graduate Entrepreneur Category

The International Graduate Entrepreneur Category welcomes foreign nationals who have graduated from a post-secondary program of at least two years in Newfoundland & Labrador and who have at least one year of experience owning and managing a business in the province.
