The Saskatchewan Health Professionals targets the physician, nurses, and other health professional working in Saskatchewan for at least six months and having a valid job offer.
The Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream of Saskatchewan Experience is one of several immigration streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) operated by the province of Saskatchewan. The Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream targets the physicians, nurses and other health professionals who has been working full-time in Saskatchewan for at least six months on a temporary work permit. The candidate must have a SINP approved job offer to be eligible for this stream and the job offer providing employer must be registered on the SINP Employer website. To apply for the SINP nomination, the candidate must be eligible for one the following three streams:
- Physicians,
- Nurses, or
- Other Health Professionals

Physicians
The Physicians is the subcategory of health professionals stream which is designed for the licenced physicians practicing medicine in Saskatchewan. The applicant must have a full-time job offer from the Saskatchewan Health Authority to continue working on the same position.
Connection To Province
The applicant must already be working as a physician in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit for at least six months prior to the application submission for a Provincial Health Authority. The position of the applicant must be at NOC Code 3111 or 3112.
Job Offer
To be eligible for this stream, the candidate must provide a Letter of Offer from the Saskatchewan employer which will demonstrate the offer of employment and the Job Approval Letter issued by the SINP. The job offer must be a permanent, full-time for the occupation position of NOC Code 3111 or 3112.
The Job Approval Letter will be issued by registering position in the SINP Online Portal by the applicant’s employer which will be assessed by the SINP. On approval, the SINP will issue the Job Approval Letter to the employer.
Level of Education
To be eligible for this stream, the applicant must have a Canadian medical degree or its equivalent education from another country and obtain a licence to practice medicine in Saskatchewan. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the letter of support issued by the College of Physicians And Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CoPSS) which must mentioned the type of licence, expiry date CoPSS support to the candidate to obtain a permanent residence status.
Work Experience
The candidate must have at least six (6) months of full-time work experience working for position correspond to NOC Code 3111 or 3112 for a Provincial Health Authority.
Nurses
The Nurses is the subcategory of health professionals stream which is designed for the registered and licenced nurses already working in Saskatchewan. The applicant must have a full-time job offer from the Saskatchewan Health Authority to continue working on the same position.
Connection To Province
The applicant must already be working as a nurse in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit for at least six months prior to the application submission for a same employer providing the job offer. The position of the applicant must be at NOC Code for registered and licenced nurses.
Job Offer
To be eligible for this stream, the candidate must provide a Letter of Offer from the Saskatchewan employer which will demonstrate the offer of employment and the Job Approval Letter issued by the SINP. The job offer must be a permanent, full-time for the occupation position of NOC Code for registered and licenced nurses. The job offer must be issued by one of the following:
- The Saskatchewan Health Authority, or
- The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, or
- Another publicly funded health employer.
The Job Approval Letter will be issued by registering position in the SINP Online Portal by the applicant’s employer which will be assessed by the SINP. On approval, the SINP will issue the Job Approval Letter to the employer.
Level of Education
To be eligible for this stream, the applicant must have a Canadian nursing degree or its equivalent education from another country and obtain a licence to practice nursing in Saskatchewan. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the licence from one of the following authority:
- Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN)
- Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPNAS)
- Saskatchewan Registered Nurses’ Association (SRNA)
Work Experience
The candidate must have at least six (6) months of full-time work experience working for the same employer providing the job offer for the position at NOC Code for registered and licenced nurses.
Other Health Professionals
The Other Health Professionals is the subcategory of health professionals stream which is designed for the workers working in the health jobs supported by the health care sector of Saskatchewan. The applicant must have a full-time job offer from the Saskatchewan Health Authority to continue working on the same position.
Connection To Province
The applicant must already be working as a health professional in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit for at least six months prior to the application submission for the same employer providing the job offer. The position of the applicant must be at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Matrix level “A”, “B”, “C” or “0”.
Job Offer
To be eligible for this stream, the candidate must provide a Letter of Offer from the Saskatchewan employer which will demonstrate the offer of employment and the Job Approval Letter issued by the SINP. The job offer must be a permanent, full-time for the occupation position of NOC Code for registered and licenced nurses. The job offer must be issued by one of the following:
- The Saskatchewan Health Authority, or
- The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, or
- Another health employer.
The Job Approval Letter will be issued by registering position in the SINP Online Portal by the applicant’s employer which will be assessed by the SINP. On approval, the SINP will issue the Job Approval Letter to the employer.
Level of Education
To be eligible for this stream, the candidate must have completed at least one-year Canadian post-secondary education or its equivalent education from another country. The equivalent education must be proved through the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) report which shows that the candidate education is equivalent to Canadian education. The ECA must be obtained through the designated organization by the IRCC. The ECA must not be older than 5 years on the date applying to the SINP.
Language Proficiency
If the applicant’s job offer is for the occupation at NOC Skill Level 0, A or B, then the applicant does not require to demonstrate any language proficiency. If the applicant’s job offer is for the occupation at NOC Skill Level C, the applicant must demonstrate the language proficiency level in all four competencies – writing, reading, listening, and speaking with the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 or higher through the valid test results obtained within the last two years prior to the applying of application.
The language proficiency must be demonstrated through the following valid English or French test:
- For English:
- International English Language Testing (IELTS) – General Training test only
- Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) – General test only
- For French:
- Test d’évaluation de français pour le Canada (TEF Canada)
- Test de connaissance du français pour le Canada (TCF Canada)
Work Experience
The candidate must have at least six (6) months of full-time work experience working for the same employer providing the job offer.
Ineligible Applicant
The candidates are ineligible for the Employment Offer steam if they are:
- refugee claimants who are claiming refugee status in Canada from the government of Canada
- failed to submit SINP required documentation
- unable to demonstrate the intent to live and work in Saskatchewan
- internationally misrepresented in the application.
Application Procedure
The SINP accepts applications at all times from eligible applicants of Health Professionals stream. The eligible applicants of the stream may submit their complete application without any application fees through the SINP Online Portal. If the application is approved and the applicant is selected for the provincial nomination, the SINP will notify the applicant by email. On receiving the provincial nomination, the applicant is eligible to submit a Canadian Permanent Residence application to IRCC. The applicant has six months to submit their paper-based application for permanent residence by mailing it to the appropriate centre whereas, these applications are generally processed within 18 months.
