Semi-skilled Agriculture Worker with Existing Work Permit

This stream targets the foreign semi-skilled agriculture workers working in Saskatchewan for at least six months and having a job offer from Saskatchewan employer.

The Semi-Skilled Agriculture Worker With Existing Work Permit stream of Saskatchewan Experience is one of several immigration streams of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program(SINP), a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) operated by the province of Saskatchewan. The Semi-Skilled Agriculture Worker With Existing Work Permit stream targets the foreign agriculture worker who has a minimum of six months of work experience in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit. The candidate must have a full-time permanent job offer from the Saskatchewan employer for the same position that the applicant has been worked for the six months and holding a valid SINP Job Approval Letter. Candidate must have a valid work permit issued by the IRCC for one of the following programs:

  • Seasonal Agriculture Worker Program;
  • International Experience Canada; or
  • Temporary Foreign Worker Program

Connection To Province

The applicant must have been worked in Saskatchewan on a valid work permit for at least six months prior to the application submission, for an employer providing a job offer under the following NOC occupations – NOC 8431: General Farm Worker or NOC 8432: Nursery and Greenhouse Worker.

Job Offer

To be eligible for this stream, the candidate must provide a Letter of Offer from the Saskatchewan employer which will demonstrate the offer of employment and the Job Approval Letter issued by the SINP. The job offer must be a permanent, full-time for the NOC occupations position of NOC 8431: General Farm Worker or NOC 8432: Nursery and Greenhouse Worker.

The Job Approval Letter will be issued by registering position in the SINP Online Portal by the applicant’s employer which will be assessed by the SINP. On approval, the SINP will issue the Job Approval Letter to the employer.

Language Proficiency

If the applicant’s job offer is for the occupation at NOC Skill Level C, the applicant must demonstrate the language proficiency level in all four competencies – writing, reading, listening, and speaking with the minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 4 through the valid test results obtained within the last two years prior to the applying of application.

The language proficiency must be demonstrated through the following valid English or French test:

  • For English:
    • International English Language Testing (IELTS) – General Training test only
    • Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) – General test only
  • For French:
    • Test d’évaluation de français pour le Canada (TEF Canada)
    • Test de connaissance du français pour le Canada (TCF Canada)

Work Experience

The candidate must have at least six (6) months of full-time work experience working for the same employer and position as mentioned in the job offer issued by the Saskatchewan employer.

Ineligible Applicant

The candidates are ineligible for the Employment Offer steam if they are:

  • refugee claimants who are claiming refugee status in Canada from the government of Canada
  • health professionals (you may apply through Saskatchewan Health Professionals stream)
  • food and beverage persons/servers (you may apply through Saskatchewan Hospitality Sector Project)
  • post-graduate work permit holding graduates. (you may apply through Saskatchewan Students or Employment Offer stream)
  • failed to submit SINP required documentation
  • unable to demonstrate the intent to live and work in Saskatchewan
  • internationally misrepresented in the application.

Application Procedure

The SINP accepts applications at all times from eligible applicants of Skilled Worker With Existing Work Permit stream. The eligible applicants of the stream may submit their complete application without any application fees through the SINP Online Portal. If the application is approved and the applicant is selected for the provincial nomination, the SINP will notify the applicant by email. On receiving the provincial nomination, the applicant is eligible to submit a Canadian Permanent Residence application to IRCC. The applicant has six months to submit their paper-based application for permanent residence by mailing it to the appropriate centre whereas, these applications are generally processed within 18 months.
